Step into a world where medieval charm meets modern luxury. We have updated Palazzo Passerini with care providing you with all the conveniences of the digital age, without compromising on its historic allure. We have thought of everything from high-speed WiFi to mobile boosters.

But it’s not just the technology that has received a makeover. We have completely transformed the bathrooms and kitchens which boast sleek designs and top-of-the-line appliances. The goal was to highlight the stunning architecture of the interiors while incorporating contemporary and comfortable furnishings.

We enlisted local artisans and esteemed Italian companies to ensure that only the finest Italian products are used and featured throughout the palazzo. One such collaboration is with Busatti, a renowned fabric supplier founded in 1842 in Anghiari. They are located just an hour’s drive from Cortona, so if you have time they are worth a visit. We have used their exquisite fabrics for the curtains, linens, and soft furnishings, while the towels, bedding, and dining chairs proudly display the distinctive bird and crown logo, inspired by the woven ‘Stemma’.

OUR PARTNERS

Tosconova, a Florence-based manufacturer of bespoke furniture, made all of the beds, sofas and chairs and use the Busatti fabrics to cover many pieces you see.

Craftsmen from Palazzo Morelli, a family-owned interior fit-out firm in Todi, created the kitchen and bathroom cabinetry and marble work in the interiors. We engaged local stone and floor cleaning experts to restore the terracotta floors and the local pietra serena stone door and fireplace surrounds had to be carefully cleaned.

Italian manufacturer Nicolazzi supplied the brassware with a contemporary style in brushed brass as a natural finish; as the brassware ages, it will naturally gain a tarnish which is intentional.

Stone and specifically Carrara marble are used sparingly for kitchen surfaces and bathroom surrounds with basalt stone used for shower bases. The entrance area outside has been resurfaced with the traditional pietra serena (rigatto) for slip resistance and is commonly used in almost all Tuscan cities as paving.

At Palazzo Passerini we are proud to partner with Marco Molesini and his Enoteca Molesini in Piazza Repubblica just a few steps away from our entrance. Our selection of wines in our honesty bar are all from the Enoteca and change every month.

His family has been involved with the wine industry since 1937, when his father, Giuliano, opened his first food and wine emporium.

Giuliano’s love for wine has now been embraced by his sons, Marco and Paolo, who have created a haven for wine enthusiasts like yourself – at their remarkable wine shop in Cortona, where they proudly boast 1200 specially selected labels. Visit them for a tasting accompanied by fine meats and cheeses, or if you’re not yet in Italy, browse their website to search for the best wine for you.
