The exquisitely renovated, 15th-century Palazzo Passerini is bang in the heart of buzzing Cortona and can be rented as a whole. It’s been restored by two architects, and every detail has been carefully considered with an emphasis on comfort, from Busatti linen sheets to chic Toscanova soft furnishings. Business partners Mark Farmer and Charles Collett first had the idea of doing somewhere up 20 years ago but completed the purchase of their dream property only in March 2020, just in time for Covid to delay the renovation. It’s been worth the wait: bathrooms have more marble than the Trevi fountain. Technically Cortona is just over the Tuscany border, but some of Umbria’s finest hillwalking is on your doorstep. The house sleeps six in three bedrooms.
